A friend and client of The Future Perfect, Jocelyne Beaudoin is one of New York most adored and hardworking creatives. Canadian born and New York based, Beaudoin, a natural polymath, has achieved an impressive career across several industries; as an interiors and set designer, stylist, art director and in-demand model. Firing on all cylinders, Jocelyne’s work - and visage - can be found in collaborations with some of the world’s leading brands including La Mer, Oribe, Madewell and Christian Dior. We paired up with Jocelyne to discuss her inspiring career, visual inspiration and favorite items within the Future Perfect world.

To know Dan Rubinstein is to love Dan Rubinstein. One of New York’s key proselytizers of design and architecture, both local and global, Rubinstein is the consummate polymath, building a career that merges the roles of editor, writer, curator and consultant. Rubinstein has worked with some of the worlds foremost brands; created “This Is Not a House,” a much loved Rizzoli title; and worked as a curator conceptualizing such projects as “The Home Front: American Design Now” at the Museum of Arts and Design. Right now, Dan works with Departures Magazine as its resident design expert, where he’s tasked with creating the lauded bi-annual Departures Home + Design issues. Dan: let’s go shopping.

It’s rather an understatement to say that stylish California transplant Natalie Bloomindale is adept at multitasking. In addition to running boutique public relations firm Nash and Lee PR Shop, which collaborates with some of the biggest names in fashion and media, the Texan native has struck out with a new online retail venture SIL (stuff i love). As the title would suggest, Bloomingdale took the chance to create a highly personal selection that reflected her taste and glamorous Angeleno life. As such, Bloomingdale has collaborated with cult lesser-known brands including Cassandra Collections, Tish Cox and the vestigial Belgian shoe maker helmed by Hayden Lasher. One of SIL’s more intriguing partnerships is a capsule collection with the Beverly Hills Hotels, a longtime haunt of Bloomingdale. In that spirit, we slunk into a booth at the famous Polo Lounge to talk fashion, Hollywood and of course, Bloomingdale’s TFP favorites.

It takes just a passing glance through his Instagram to realize that Alex P White is unquestionably a triple threat: a man of style, substance and immense cultivation. The designer, who launched his own studio in 2017 after working with revered companies such as Kelly Behun Studio, balances vivacious residential projects and limited edition furniture projects, keeping this intriguing by weaving in varied pop culture references from Issey Miyake to Siouxsie and the Banshees. Any Alex P White project is guaranteed to have that certain frisson; imbued with erudite clues that extend down the annals of aesthetic culture. Tom Morris is without question one of the sharpest journalists and curators working today. His words have appeared in The FT Weekend, Departures, CNN Style, and AD, among others. As a modernism aficionado - not to mention Clay expert - we were intrigued to spend some time shopping with Tom.

Anyone with an Instagram account and a passing interest in architecture would certainly be familiar with Eric Petschek (known online as @cb). Early to the ‘gram game, Petschek is one of the foremost chroniclers of contemporary spaces - from monumental icons of architecture to under-the-radar interiors projects by emerging talents.

Caitlin Mociun founded her namesake jewelry line in 2011 with the intention of creating fine jewelry that is streamlined, elegant and enlightened. A natural born collaborator, the brand’s stylish founder credits her exacting eye to years of global voyages and her studies at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Nicole Hollis, who heads up the San Francisco design firm NICOLEHOLLIS Studio, is without question one of our favorite designers on the west coast. Overseeing a team of more than two dozen designers working from a spectacular Bay area “laboratory,’ Hollis weaves her magic on projects as diverse as hospitality interiors and product design. Known for her rich and unexpected material palette, Hollis recently discussed her studio process and walked us through her favorite pieces from the world of The Future Perfect.

There is only one Douglas Friedman. The New York born photographer has captured some of the world’s most remarkable interiors and architecture projects for titles such as AD, Elle Decor, Vanity Fair and Harper’s Bazaar.

As the founder and editor in chief of Cultured, the zeitgeist-surfing arts and culture magazine as well as recently launched LALA, a portal into Los Angeles’ burgeoning creative scene, Sarah Harrelson wields formidable influence on both coasts. A glimpse into her elegant Miami Beach family home reveals a passionate art and design lover with her finger on the pulse of both design and art.

According to its principal, growing Brooklyn-based design studio Billy Cotton seeks to imbue each of its design projects with “originality and nuance.” Given the interior worlds’ outsized emphasis on visual sizzle, that’s no easy feat. The namesake designer, who also creates his own line of furniture and lighting, brings each project to vivid life with a trademark sense of restraint, layered references and an unerring attention to detail. It’s difficult to think of a better shopping companion.

Since founding his design and architecture firm some ten years ago, Rafael de Cárdenas has built a reputation as one of the industry’s most idiosyncratic talents. Reflecting his diverse influences - notably fashion, popular culture and film - the studio’s projects are distinguished by a sense of daring that’s matched by impeccable execution.

With clients like Gucci, Calvin Klein, and Miu Miu, creative director and production designer Stefan Beckman is considered one of the fashion industry’s most formidable and imaginative creatives. Across more than 20 seasons, Beckman has created the sets for Marc Jacobs’ spectacular runways shows, which are widely regarded as the hot ticket of the week.

Alexandra Champalimaud, the principal of New York based Champalimaud Design, is one of the most prolific interior designers working today. Equally capable of transforming a grande dame (Hotel Bel Air) as she is conjuring a brand new luxury high rise (Four Seasons Jakarta) the peripatetic Portuguese-born designer, who started her firm more than three decades ago, is known for an unerring eye, restrained but luxurious sense of color and near academic knowledge of art and design history.

When the time came to select our first “Shopping With” tastemaker, it was a no brainer. J.J. Martin is a California-born, Milan-based multi-hyphenate who knows design from the inside out. A true original whose life and career are intimately intertwined, Martin is a highly regarded critic and journalist covering fashion, culture and design. In 2014, she founded the website LaDoubleJ.com as an “eye-popping” hybrid of e-commerce, editorial and top-notch Milan intel.
